Slurpees! What Is Your Favorite Flavour?

Mmm...Slurpee's are one of my favorite fun cold drinks.  There are so many different flavours now!

7-Eleven offers a huge selection of these fabulous brain freeze beverages.  CAUTION:  Drink Slowly!  My absolute favorite corner store Slurpee is Sprite and then Coke being the emergency fall back if Sprite is not available.

To mix or not to mix?  Well, that depends.  In the end you will have all of the layers of different flavours mixing together as Swamp Water at the bottom of your Slurpee.  Will they mingle well or be a disaster and completely offend your tongue to the point of pouring the concoction down the drain.  My mix of choice is Coke with Cream Soda.  The melted combination at the end is no good.  However, the first slurp once the two flavours are combined is really yummy though.

Dairy Queen Slurpee's are not very good.  The flavours are great but the syrup is sucked out very quickly do to the size of the ice.  The ice at Dairy Queen is a coarse large particle compared to the small well blended ice at 7-Eleven and Mac's stores.

Male Body Waxing

It's not that bad.  I just finished waxing my brothers back, shoulders and neck.   For those men that have been made to feel that they should have hair removed from their body...go for the wax.  Waxing lasts much longer than shaving and is  less prickly when the hair starts growing back.  Yes, of course it is a little bit painful.  With a quick hand, by an esthetician or home kit, and the session is finished before you get dehydrated from crying...joking.

Start

The best wax to use is actual heated wax, spread with a Popsicle like stick, and removed with strips.  Peel and pull with no strip, honey, cream, or no heat depilatory products fall short on a good one pass removal.
Breathe Out
For men, I find that Parissa Warm Wax for Coarse Hair works great for an at home kit.  Easily heated wax in the microwave thins to a perfect consistency for spreading over large areas. Strips, spreading sticks and after care wax removal solution all are included in the kit to make a simple no fuss purchase.

Finished

Only one painfully angry "SERIOUSLY" came out of Dinky's mouth this time around.  It is a lot more painful if the wax starts cooling off and gets thick. The thick wax pulls and tugs on the hair while spreading over the area. Keep it heated so it remains thin so there is no pain before pulling off a strip.  A little bit red from ripping the hair out by the root.  By morning the redness should be gone or very little remaining.  Should be good for a few weeks before needing to be taken care of again.

Early Morning Construction

7 AM and the guys are out with all of the LOUD heavy machinery. Right outside my bedroom window across the street.  All I wanted was an extra half hour of sleep.  Drilling, crashing, backup beeping, and yelling.  Oh, what a horrible way to be ripped out of a snooze allowed sleep.  Dislike!

So, off to the bylaws to find out what noise restrictions are in place.    The CRD Bylaws do state the allowable start time of 7 AM that I was aware of.  I did not know why such an early time has been in effect.  Here it explains that the latest they can work is 7 PM or until sunset.  Now, the sunset time frame I did not know.  Getting in a full days of work in with the sun going down earlier and earlier I understand.  I do still wish that they started their work after I was up for the day and off to work myself.

Scott Duck Assaulted Or Was He?!

This Was NOT OK!
Scott and Darren were having a couple of beers and some munchies downtown Victoria at Smith's Pub just up from the Wicket.  The pub was shared by a group of nurses of varying ages.  Sitting at the bar, Scott and Darren were visited by one of the forty something nurses.  Not shy, she pressed her breasts against Scott's back and slung her arm around his shoulders then asks "how's he doing".  After the brief contact from the strange unknown woman she returned to her group of friends.  Poutine, and fish and chips were continued to be consumed by Scott and Darren as they shook their heads about the encounter.  A short time later the same woman came back, reached her arm around Scott's waist, slid down between his legs and grabbed his Twig and Berries.  Completely shocked, Scott yelled out and she withdrew her grip.  The group of nurses takes off and is gone down the street.

Now.  Questions being...1.  why did none of her friends, other pub goers, and pub staff not say or do a thing about Scott being assaulted  2.  what would have happened to Scott if he had grabbed her vagina  and 3.  could Scott have punched her in the head as would have happened if he assaulted her in the same manner?  A bad case of what is socially acceptable that a woman can do to a man...definitely!  Scott would have got a beat down, banned from the pub, thrown in jail, and left with an assault charge.  A woman would have turned around and  slapped a man across the head.  Whereas Scott would have been charged if he had punched her in the head after she assaulted him.

This incident actually really upsets me and she should have had her face bashed in!  I do not understand why this passed as acceptable by all of the people that were in the pub.  It was very clear that Scott did not know her.  Is this something that a woman thinks a man wants and therefore it is OK?  A man would never have gotten away with sexually assaulting or violating a woman in the manner in which Scott experienced.

Gracie's First Doctors Visit

Gracie
My beautiful little kitten had her first doctors visit today.  She did awesome!  There was a bit of initial fear and her tail fluffed up bigger than her head.  After coming out of her carrier she calmed down and got a good sniff down of the examining room.
Linty
Healthy five month old kitten, thumbs on her hands and six toes on her feet...little bit weird but my Linty had thumbs too.  When I rescued Gracie from the Crack House in Vancouver back in June one of the twits had cut her whiskers right down to her nose.  Her upside down white heart sports healthy regrown whiskers now.  Two  doctors visits to go in October for her booster shots and get spayed.

Kiersten's Diaper Cake

Making crafty things is so much fun.  Yeah, laugh at me.  Everyone has their hobbies.  Picking items off of the new Mommies wish list was getting really boring for me.  Kiersten's baby shower was my first attempt at creating a diaper cake.  Lets gather a few items and see what I can make with them was my thought this time around.    Being stubborn I decided to try it without looking at pictures or others innovative designs.  Mistake?  Yes and no.  The process could have been made more simple with knowing mistakes and secrets of others.  My mistakes made me laugh and find my own technique.

Rolling eighty four size one diapers was no problem the first time around. Annoyance followed by near tears as the frustration of something that should be so simple was really ticking me off!

Each of these wee little poop catchers was rolled no less than three times a piece. Reason being that I could not keep them rolled long enough to make a layer. Ah ha! Then a light bulb finally is lit for my dilemma. Stuff the diapers into my pasta pot to hold the shape giving me the help to insert the support through the center and tie the layer together.

To make the Diaper Cake stable is a round piece of cardboard supporting the base with a tube of the same material going up the center of the tiers.  Yay, it's working!  This is not that intimidating...or is it?  I believe ribbon is my Nemesis.

When tying a layer together I learned a few times...do NOT pull the ribbon too tight.  Ribbon breaks, cake collapses and then there is more re rolling of diapers.

Plastic Platex bottles with their coordinating nipples, covers and disposable liners were tied into the second layer. Soothers placed on to of the second layer were tied to the third layer with ribbon. A chew toy was attached to a bottle with ribbon and used as the cake topper.  Diaper cake is complete.

Yes!  I would definitely make another one for any up coming baby shower as a gift.

UGGS - Scott will love this!

Got out off the house on this dreary, wet, depressing day to drop of a diaper cake for Kiersten's Baby Shower  (I will post making and photos of the diaper cake tomorrow), and I still feel icky.  Bored and not going home to sit with my kitty and stare outside at the weather's bipolar flip.  Off shopping I go...just thinking of it just warms me up.

I wanted to try on UGGS.  The rain forest of Vancouver Island will now give it to us until Spring.  The tootsies will need something new, snuggley, and warm to walk around in.  The fireplace is not so portable.

There is a massive price difference depending where you go UGG hunting.  Plus there are a large variety of styles to choose from and my interest is in the Women's Classic Cardy Grey and Women's Classic Short Black.

$174.99 and $199.99 at Softmoc     $139.28 and $145.08 at UGGS Boots Canada
$174.99 and $200.00 at Feet First   $175.00 and $250 at Town Shoes

Oh and then  I came across these wonderful Women's Classic Rose UGGS that I must find in stores to see if I love them as much as this picture.

Shop around, try them on in stores and then order your UGGS online at UGGS Boots Canada for the best price that I could find for a new set of UGGS.
